Parish Councillors

Planning Application: 14/0937/FUL – Solar Array in Scopwick & Kirkby Green

The Parish Council has been passed a set of Amended Plans / Additional Information relating to the Application for a solar array installation in the Parish. The Council is required to make any comment by 15 September 2014.

These documents may all be seen on the NKDC Planning Online facility where all the latest comments from public bodies and private individuals may be seen along with documents dated even later than those that have just been passed to the Parish Council.

It would appear that all the later documents, with one exception, do not change the original application – they simply seek to expand detail information or respond to actual or potential questions about the location and structures associated with the site. In particular the proximity to the Conservation Area and listed buildings in Scopwick is dealt with in detail.

The exception relates to the siting of the electrical substation that would be erected and run by Western Power. It appears that previous comment by the Parish Council about the plans has been considered and the siting has been moved closer to Trundle Lane where it is a less prominent feature and can be better screened by surrounding trees.

The documents received have been passed to Cllr David Nelson who will respond to NKDC Planning Department on behalf of the Parish Council Planning Committee.

Joe Kennard

Clerk
