Veterans in the Community

The Royal Voluntary Service are running two new projects around Lincolnshire in the hope to reduce social isolation for older veterans in the community.

The first project is called Veterans in the Community. The project is aimed at ensuring older veterans avoid social isolation and loneliness through a free befriending service.

The second project has the same aim and is called Veterans – the old , the new and the future, known as Camaraderie Clubs. As part of the project, we have a social club in Sleaford opening soon, with clubs in Coningsby, Grantham and Spalding following later in the year.

The club is supported by volunteers who themselves are ex or currently serving military personnel. We are working in collaboration with local military charities, regimental associations and RAF Camps and therefore able to access a wealth of information and support for our members as required.

Please click the links above to download posters for the two projects and forward to any members of your Parish who might be interested in volunteering or who can benefit from any of these services.
